Cabin Check-in Guide
Welcome to the Farm
We're thrilled to welcome you to our farm in the charming Tulbagh valley.
Please remember that this is a fully operational fruit farm and that you will most likely hear sounds from everyday farming activities during your stay. We strive to provide you with the best possible experience and will therefore do our best to keep the farming sounds to a minimum where possible.
In 2021, we opened our first cabin (Kingfisher) and have since expanded with 6 more cabins and a campsite. All our accommodation units are named after bird species of the area so be sure to keep an eye out for them.
We trust you will have a memorable stay with us!

Instructions for Use - Hot Tub, Pizza Oven, Gas Stove
Wood-Fired Hot Tub
Instructions for use:
- Wood is already packed in the stainless-steel drum.
- Light it with a firelighter and matches.
- Replace the stainless-steel lid and ALWAYS KEEP THE LID ON.
- Slide the lid left/right to adjust the airflow for a stronger/slower burning fire.
- LEAVING THE LID COMPLETELY OPEN RESULTS IN EXTREME DAMAGE TO THE PLASTIC OF THE HOT TUB. THE WOOD ON THE DECK CAN START TO BURN.
- It takes about 1.5 hours to heat the tub (depending on the outside temperature)
- Every now and then you can lift the lid and add 3 or 4 pieces of wood to the fire in the stainless-steel drum.
- Regularly stir the water with your hand to spread the heat
- The bubble plastic cover helps to keep the water warm.
- Please do not place the hot lid on the plastic of the hot tub. the plastic will melt. There are stands provided for the lids.
- Adding oils/bubble bath to the hot-tub will result in a R1000 cleaning fee
The hot tub’s water is circulated through a pump which is on a timer. The water is pumped through the jets/silver pipe when the timer goes on. The timer will go off automatically again.
Pizza Oven
Instructions for use:
- Defrost the pizza before use
- Make a fire in the outdoor braai
- Wait until you have coals.
- Only use a few coals to prevent your pizza from burning
- Generously dust the pizza stone with cake flour
- Place the stainless steel pizza oven over the hot coals
- The temperature gauge will quickly reach 160-180*C
- Place the pizza on the stone with the pizza spade
- Cook with the lid closed for about 10-20min or until the crust is crispy and the cheese has melted (check it regularly)
- NB!! The pizza stone is made of a porous material and should not be exposed to liquids. Never wash or immerse in water. The dark stains on the stone are completely normal and does not mean the stone is dirty. Please leave the stone for us to clean.
Gas Stove / Geyser
The geyser and stove are gas-powered. Should your water not heat up or your stove not work, you have probably run out of gas. There are 2 gas cylinders outside your cabin. Please WhatsApp us for assistance and we will send someone up to switch it over to the spare cylinder.
